HKSTS has sponsored the HKSTS Outstanding Student Paper Award (hereafter, the OSPA) since the OSPA was established in 2003. Postgraduate students who fulfill the requirements are welcome to submit a paper for the OSPA. The applicant must be the sole author of the paper. The full paper must not have been submitted for publication or published.

The OSPA committee will shortlist no more than three student papers for a special session of the 21st HKSTS International Conference. A prize presentation will be held at the Conference. HKSTS reserves the right not to grant the OSPA should members of the OSPA committee consider the quality of submissions or the performance of the candidates at the session to be unsatisfactory. Decisions of the OSPA committee shall be final.

The winner will be awarded a plaque and a prize of HK$3,000. The first and second runners-up will be awarded a certificate of merit. The three short-listed papers will also be considered for publication in the HKSTS journals.
